The full policy is with the team’s legal adviser and has not been finalised. What follows describes how the site behaves today, and it will be replaced by the reviewed text rather than added to.

What the site stores on your device

• Crossword progress. Your letters, elapsed time and whether you used the check control are saved in your browser’s local storage so you can come back to a puzzle. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
• Nothing else. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

What we collect

• If you subscribe to the newsletter, the email address you give us, held by our email provider so we can send you the newsletter.
• Aggregate page and interaction counts, if an analytics endpoint is configured for this deployment. These carry no name, no email and no device identifier.

What we never do

• Sell or share your address.
• Use your crossword or quiz answers for anything but showing them back to you.

Getting your data removed

Email hello@thespotlight.pk and we will remove your address from the list. Clearing your browser’s site data removes everything stored locally.
